My Wife and myself have been Static owners for just four months, having bought a van on Twyn Ghyll at Paythorn in Lancashire. We find the site delightful, quiet and very suitable for wrinklies like ourselves. The site owners ( Park Leisure) are trying hard to up-grade their status from 4 to 5*, which I am sure they will achieve.

So, if you are into the quiet life and want a Dog-friendly park with a run free enclosed field for your animals, (as long as you clean up after them of course!), minimal intrusion from children (the odd Grandkids apart), this is the park for you.

The onsite staff, Phil the Site Director and his helpers Mike and Jean are very helpful and organize many events on site, and also at the rather delectable and very local Pub, the Buck Inn. Stewart and Pauline

The farmstead on which the caravan park lies existed in Saxon times and is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The origins of the Hall date from 1604.

The park is situated half a mile from the town of Boroughbridge across the river Ure in Langthorpe village. The park takes a limited number of touring vans and tents since much of the area is used to space out the static caravans. The park has a games room incorporating a snooker table for adults and pool & dart for the younger family members should the weather dictate!

The park totals four acres in area. The pitches, on open, level ground are sheltered by mature trees and the site is surrounded by farmland. A children's play area is also provided.

For the 2008 season we have a brand new luxury amenity block that is centrally heated with free showers, laundry facilities, hair and hand drying, and separate dishwashing area.

There are many different internal designs to choose from; they come completely furnished with two choices of fabric colours.

Fitted as standard, Persiana blinds, double glazing, mosquito blinds on all windows, (please note apart from the kitchen and wall units) the sofa, tables, and beds etc.. are totally removable.

All double beds are King Size. The hot water, fire and kitchen hob are powered by bottled gas.

Electrical supply is 40 amps per plot.

Air-conditioning can be fitted by a local Pizarra company if required.

Pizarra Pueblo

Pizarra is a wonderful traditional Spanish Village and boasts all the facilities needed locally.

There are numerous shops and supermarkets, bars and restaurants, banks, medical centre, dentists, pharmacies, internet centre, petrol stations, also DVD hire. There is also a newly built municipal swimming pool which has a retracting glass roof for summer and winter use.

A fabulous public service to Malaga and the coast is available with the use of the Pizarra train station; there is also a local bus and taxi service.

Pizarra celebrates many religious events throughout the year with a colourful week long Feria celebration in August.

Pizarra is a welcoming village although forever growing not losing its traditional charm.
A statue of Jesus known locally as "El Santo" overlooks the village from the mountain top protecting its people.

Also close by is the historic village of Alora with its steep hills and Moorish Castle.

Another tourist attraction is the beauty of the scenic lakes of Ardales Natural Park and the El Chorro Gorge which was used in the final scenes of the classic Sinatra film "Von Ryans Express".

Transport is necessary from site as the nearest bus stop is 20 mins walk.
