Static Caravan Information Service Members Only Pages Choosing The Right Pitch. |

Choosing the right pitch can be very important especially on larger parks. This is very much down to the individual, you may want to be tucked away in a quiet corner, close to all the facilities on holiday parks or near the play area for the children. What about the sun, is it in a nice sunny position or do you prefer a shaded area. If you see an area on the park you think would suit you better but no pitches are vacant, ask if it would be possible to move if one became vacant and at what cost. A pitch close to the edge of a lake might look very picturesque, on a cliff top with sea views would be very nice, but if you have small children would these be a wise choice when you take into account the danger element. Often this is the point when the new static caravan owners and park managers have their first words. You may want to make your plot look different from all the others, put up a shed, lay a patio and build a veranda. We suggest you talk to the Park manager before doing anything, even putting up a clothes line. Often you are limited to what you can do, for example, size and type of shed, patio or veranda, if allowed. A good idea is to put down in writing, exactly what you want to do and get it authorised. This also applies to making any type of garden or planting shrubs, bushes etc. Always check before knocking any type of posts or anchor points into the ground, to avoid hitting any mains services. |
