Q We are on a very quiet park which has just changed hands and just received a letter stating vast changes are planned with building of bar/restaurant, pool, gym etc. resulting in our site fees doubling. The attraction of the park was it had none of these so why should we pay extra for what we don't want.

A Have you talked to the new owners if a group of you get together perhaps it might have some stance. You did not mention who the new owners are if it is one of the large holiday companies you may have a problem, try contacting the BH&HPA they may be able to advise.

Q We have been told we can no longer have post delivered to our caravan due to some new rules and regulation set down by the goverment is this correct?

A Not sure if it is government or just local councils that have stated this rule in some areas there are a number of guidelines parks should follow now this is all part of the crack down on stopping people trying to live on holiday parks.

Q DOES ANY  MEMBER HAVE CARAVANS ON LONGMEADOWS PARK AT WITHERNSEA EAST YORKS ? WE ARE RETIRING NEXT YEAR,AND HAVE A MOTORHOME AND WANT TO BUY A STATIC CARAVAN TO SPEND SOME TIME IN BETWEEN MOTORHOME TRIPS.LONGMEADOWS Adrian

A. Email us with any information about Longmeadows Park and we will forward your comments to Adrian.

Q Hi Keith, Our caravan has developed a damp patch on the none door side in the lounge, we have had the park manager look at it and he says the roof seems have gone and it is not worth repairing. The caravan is seven years old we have owned it since new and hoped it would last a little longer than that can you suggest anyone who might repair it? Sandra

A Hi Sandra try the company I have emailed you, usually a leak of this type is not a big job and can be fixed with cold cure flash banding and not expensive at least get a quote it won't cost for that but get it fixed ASAP before too much damage is done.

Q Member 60105 my wife has suffered a very bad stroke and can no longer manage to visit our caravan so we decided to let my brother have it as they had spent many days with us and enjoyed it very much. No money has changed hands but the park owner insists he wants 15% of the value of the caravan (appox value £14,000) can this be the case and is it legal.

A I am afraid it could very well be true look at your sales contract and agreement when you purchased the caravan it should state in that the terms and conditions of sale. This clause was brought in to stop deals going on behind park owners backs and silly deals like supposedly selling at a very low price to avoid a high commission  charge. We suggest if this is the case and the agreement states a commission has to be paid you try to come to some arrangement with the park owner under the genuine circumstances.
